Concept Diagram - Willow
During the conceptual stage of my masterplan for Alney
Island I studied Willow branches for inspiration. I began by drawing them as
they would hang from the tree, but as I progressed, I decided I wanted my
design to revolve around celebrating and conserving nature and wildlife.
Therefore, I began studying the branches as though they had been laid out
carefully for preservation, almost like I wanted to do with the landscapes of Alney
Island. From this, my masterplan developed, eventually mimicking an abstract
Willow branch as though it had been laid across the site.
