Sketching the Landscape

I thoroughly enjoyed writing a previous post in which I shared images and reflected on elements within the landscape that captured my interest, so I decided to complete a similar task and develop it further. This time, I reviewed older photos from walks and sketched images of elements that not only interested me, but also the mundane things that my eyes would normally pass over, alongside little notes about what I was seeing, hearing and smelling. I enjoyed this task as it has encouraged me to consider every aspect of a landscape, including all sensory elements, as well as the smaller, mundane details that add character and identity to a place without being the main focal point.
